Ghost Chair: decoration ideas with the classic piece by Philippe Starck

A worldwide phenomenon, the Louis Ghost chair, by Philippe Starck, is a recent masterpiece. Created in 2002 by the French designer, the piece is inspired by an 18th century armchair made in honor of the king of France Louis XV. 300 years later, the furniture was redesigned with the aesthetic appeal of Starck, who dared to create an all-transparent product made of polycarbonate.

In a creative way, Philippe rescues the aesthetics of the Baroque movement with charisma and fascination. The result was a stackable, crystalline and extremely resistant bench, characteristics that made the Ghost chair one of the most sold - and copied - pieces in the world.

1. Light and practical kitchen
When the kitchen has enough space for a large lunch table, the place is ideal for receiving friends and family. Here, the clean decor helps give the impression of an even wider division - and the main reason for this is the transparency of Louis Ghost chairs. The look remains minimalist with the black cabinet, the countertop and the white crockery.


2. Everything transparent
To highlight the balcony of this house in Madrid, the residents opted to abuse translucent surfaces inside. In the living room, the glass table received Louis Ghost, in addition to transparent vases that house flowers with thin stems. All this to take advantage of the outdoor area and all the natural light that comes from it.


3. All white
The living room above gathers strong design names. In the center, the classic Saarinen table, by Eero Saarinen, is accompanied by two Ghost chairs. The perfect match for those who like curves and lighter decor.


4. Lightness
Signed by Katrina Phillips and Georgiana Huddart, this charming American kitchen was able to take advantage of the chair design created by Philippe Starck. Light, the environment bets in shades of green and beige for a serene decoration. Wood, ceramics, glass and plastic still appear in the composition.
