1. Bet on simple pieces and in a minimalist style
Forget using too many accessories and don't “burden” the colors. In a small apartment it is best to bet on white and choose wood finishes, also in the bathroom. Also, do not place too many plants, candles or pots. In general, avoid small accessories that end up visually saturating the space.
2. Dare to buy a big rug
With a large rug, you can define a small corner of the living room, for example, and focus all visual attention on it. What happens is that you are creating a feeling of greater amplitude around you, especially if you keep the space free. On the rug, place a coffee table and a pair of benches, for example.
3. For textiles, soft colors
Forget the strong colors in textiles and opt for soft tones. White and cream tones are the most suitable choices for textiles, if your space is small, as they bring greater luminosity to the interior.
4. Always choose simple and neutral tones
Especially in the bedroom and living room, let in natural light. For curtains or blinds it is best to use thin fabrics in soft tones; white, of course, is the best option. Pillows, cabinets or any other complement must have soft colors to achieve a homogeneous aesthetic that provides a feeling of visual amplitude.
5. Sliding doors, always
A door needs almost 1 m2 of free space to open and close; few valuable centimeters that can be gained inside a small bathroom through the use of a sliding door.
6. The entrance, always in order and with few things
The entrance is the business card. If it is small, do not put a dresser, but a cloakroom, to hang your coat or suitcase. Install a small shelf to keep the keys and mail. A small shelf at ground level will serve to leave your shoes (only one pair per person, please).
